For generations, Rose Jewelers has been part of the La Crosse community. Founded by George B. Rose, who came to America from Germany in 1851, the business began in downtown La Crosse and has remained family-owned ever since. Today, Jon Rose and his brother Jordan continue that tradition with the same commitment to quality, service, and personal attention.
George B. Rose was born in Nordhausen, Germany, in 1830. At the age of 21, he came to America and first settled in Poughkeepsie, New York. He later followed the rail lines west to La Crosse, Wisconsin, where he opened his jewelry business on Pearl Street in the heart of the city’s business district.
In 1881, the store moved to 310 Main Street, where it served the community for 79 years. In 1960, Rose Jewelers relocated to 111 5th Avenue South, continuing its long history of serving families in La Crosse.

In 1989, Rose Jewelers moved to its current location at the corner of 5th and Main Street. After 62 years in the business, Steve Rose is now retired. Today, Jon Rose, a fifth-generation jeweler, and his brother Jordan proudly carry on the Rose family tradition.
